Victims of domestic abuse and violence – handling the media

There are many charities and agencies to help women victims in the aftermath of domestic abuse and violence.


We provide expert – and free – advice on how to handle any media interest in women and their families as a result from of acts of such abuse.


Our team includes a former senior detective and family liaison officer, together with journalists who have worked extensively with families facing press attention in challenging circumstances.

Women who have been subjected to abuse may want to share their experience to help others. Or they may want to avoid all contact with the press.


In either event, we can help. Your situation is unique and after discussing it with you in complete confidence, we can explain the benefits and any pitfalls of talking to the media.


Given the extremely sensitive nature of your experience, there are many issues to consider and we will not suggest any course that is not in your interests.


If you decide you do want to give an interview we can arrange every aspect of it, from advising on which media to approach, ensuring you approve it before it is published and, if you wish, negotiating a fee for you.
